With the corporate season in full swing, audiences have been both, treated to a motivating journey discovering why “All Business is Show Business” and astonished watching Derek reduce a regular sized woman to merely a head and toes in the increasingly popular “Captivate” illusion presentation. 

Christmas came early this year for Derek on December 3^rd with the arrival of a long black road case that introduced us to a new illusion affectionately known as “Crusher”.  Formally referred to as “Compressed” in professional magic circles, this Daniel Summers’ creation adds a playful new type of illusion to the repertoire.  Crusher is brought to life with the addition of stunning new stage assistant, Alex Leonard.  A native Calgarian, Alex brings her role to life with her lifetime of dance experience.  A psychology student by day, Alex welcomes a break from the books to join Derek and Jocelyn as they create captivating moments on stage for corporate and public audiences around the world.

This winter also had Derek and his team brave a harsh -25C degree day in January to host the inaugural ceremonies for Winsport Canada’s Athletic and Ice Complex at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, AB. The first phase of the complex adds 3 new North American sized rinks to the community.  This state of the art facility will become the hub of the nation’s first winter sport institute – nurturing the passion of young amateurs and Olympians alike.  Learn more about this amazing facility at: http://www.winsportcanada.ca/aic/index_aic.cfm.
